چکیده

In 4D printing, structures with gradients in physical properties are 3D printed order to dramatically increase deformation. For example, printing bilayer passive and active layers has been proposed, however, these methods have the disadvantages that material of each layer is mixed, modeling process complicated. Herein, we present a method creating gradient gels different degrees polymerization on UV-exposed side other using single by simply increasing amount initiator. This gel first example which differential swelling ratio between two sides causes curl inward toward side. The mechanical (swelling Young’s modulus) were measured at concentrations structures, effects deformation analyzed simulated. results show adding an initiator concentration 0.2 (mol/L) or more deformation, crosslinker factor three increases hinge structure limits up 90°. Thus, it was found maximum can be predicted some extent simulation. future, will able create complex while utilizing

Swelling-Induced Surface Patterns in Hydrogels with Gradient Crosslinking Density

Hydrogels with controlled surface patterns are useful for a range of applications, including in microdevices, sensors, coatings, and adhesives. In this work, a simple and robust method to generate a wide range of osmotically driven surface patterns, including random, lamellar, peanut, and hexagonal structures is developed. This method does not require the use of organic solvents for swelling, p...

Interpenetrating Network Hydrogels: Mechanical, Swelling and Controlled Drug Release Properties

The cell wall of most plant biomass from forest and agricultural resources consists of three major polymers, cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. Of these, hemicelluloses have gained increasing attention as sustainable raw materials. In this study, novel pH-sensitive semi-IPN hydrogels based on hemicelluloses and chitosan were prepared using glutaraldehyde as the crosslinking agent. The hemice...

extremal region detection guided by maxima of gradient magnitude

a problem of computer vision applications is to detect regions of interest under dif- ferent imaging conditions. the state-of-the-art maximally stable extremal regions (mser) detects affine covariant regions by applying all possible thresholds on the input image, and through three main steps including: 1) making a component tree of extremal regions’ evolution (enumeration), 2) obtaining region ...

Biomimetic 4D printing.

Shape-morphing systems can be found in many areas, including smart textiles, autonomous robotics, biomedical devices, drug delivery and tissue engineering. The natural analogues of such systems are exemplified by nastic plant motions, where a variety of organs such as tendrils, bracts, leaves and flowers respond to environmental stimuli (such as humidity, light or touch) by varying internal tur...

Swelling Characterization of Nanocomposite Hydrogels of Poly (acrylamide-N-vinylimidazole)

In this study, a hydrogel composed of acrylamide (AAm) with N-vinylimidazole (NVI) as co-monomer, with a cross-linker such as N, N` Methylenebisacrylamide and potassium peroxodisulfate as an initiator solution was prepared. Poly (AAm/NVI) hydrogels were synthesized by free radical solution polymerization. Swelling experiments were performed in water at 25°C, gravimetrically. Here, it was of...
